Ann Curry

Ann Curry is a photojournalist as well as a journalist, author and has covered war zones for the past forty-five years. Her research focuses on human suffering as well as disasters. They met during the time their father was in Japan following World War II. Due to her father's service as a military officer that they had to move around a lot. Curry completed her high school at Ashland Oregon. Curry graduated from high school in 1978 and earned an undergraduate degree in journalism at the University of Oregon. Following that, she went on to become an anchor reporter and anchor for KGW which is an NBC affiliate station in Portland. She moved back in Los Angeles four years later to work as a reporter for KCBS TV. She received 2 Emmy Awards during the six years she spent with this station.
